NYC ‘24: Day 5
“If the doors of your church closed tomorrow, would anyone miss it?”
This is the question Pastor Danny of Swerve Church asks himself everyday. Because of this, Pastor Danny places a high emphasis on serving the Bushwick community through ministry partnerships. Our team was able to serve one such partnership today, an Elementary School called P151. We were able to assist the Assistant Principal by throwing out old books, organizing and cleaning closets, and setting up rooms for future events. Our presence in P151 means the bond of trust between the school and Swerve Church increased. By forming lifelong ministry partners, Pastor Danny believes that Swerve Church will become a life-giving and transforming church for his community.
After our time of service, Pastor Danny shared his heart, vision, mission, and context for Swerve Church. He showed us what commitment to a community for the sake of Christ looks like. Pray for Pastor Danny and Swerve Church that they will continue to reach their community for Christ by building long lasting relationships!
