NYC Tuesday Update

Neighborhood Church team on the Upper West Side began a couple of projects for Geneva School today.

Geneva School a private Christian school located in NYC. It’s one of the only ones that teaches from a Biblical worldview and is really a light in a dark school system.

Neighborhood Church has formed a great partnership with Geneva school and has done all they can to help that school succeed.

Our team began cleaning the Sanctuary today. It’s a really neat sanctuary that was formerly the home of a Catholic parish. The Catholic church de-consecrated it about 8 years ago to allow the school to use it. (Really cool trivia, Babe Ruth’s second wedding was held in this Sanctuary).

Today we had the opportunity to serve the community by cleaning up the streets of Hell’s Kitchen! So many people were thankful for the work that we were able to accomplish! We had many conversations that lead to us telling strangers about our purpose in coming to NY! In addition to gospel conversations, we were also able to connect a few people with OCC. In addition to trash clean up, we had the opportunity to organize and clean OCC’s worship space. Later on, we prepared over 100 hand warmers for tomorrow’s project! Please pray for us as we minister in prominent areas of Hell’s Kitchen tomorrow.
