Free Pancakes & Coffee
NYC ‘24: Day 3
Bushwick, Brooklyn is a neighborhood with an estimated 120,000 residents. Swerve Church is trying to reach this community with the gospel. The first half of our day our group was split into two teams. Each team was located at one of Swerve Church’s two locations in Bushwick. We gave our free pancakes and coffee!
In the afternoon, our group came back together to put on a block party outside of one of the church locations. We gave out hot dogs, snow cones, and popcorn. Swerve Church places a high emphasis on serving and loving the community by being present frequently. The community has begun to notice Swerve’s existence. Multiple people our team talked with said they would visit the church.
Our night ended by exploring Brooklyn! We had a good meal and crossed the Brooklyn Bridge! Pray for energy for Day 4! The team is beginning to grow tired, but God is faithful!
